Step up to Superior Shell Technology for the perfect airtight fit
Decade Maple drums feature 5.4 mm shells made from 6 plies of pure maple, crafted with Pearl’s proprietary Superior Shell Technology. This technique begins with select maple wood chosen for its acoustic properties, then milled to precise thickness with overlapping scarf joint seams for a perfect airtight fit. The wood plies are then saturated with Pearl’s proprietary AcoustiGlue that permeates every pore and dries to the exact consistency of the wood for optimum resonance. Finally, the plies are formed in high-temperature molds with 1,000 PSI of hydraulic pressure to produce perfect drum shells that exhibit superior tone, optimal resonance and extreme strength.

Pearl Decade Maple kits come marked with their own unique badge, designed to set them apart from entry-level kits as their own professional series. Compliment the badge with the wide selection of genuine lacquer finishes, including bright solid colors, glossy bursts and matte finishes to accent the woodgrain, and you have a professional look to match the sound—extremely rare in a kit at this price.
Quality hardware fit for the toughest gigs
Just like the hardware used on Pearl’s more expensive offerings, the Decade series shell hardware is low mass and low contact, allowing for optimum resonance and rock-solid durability, free from warping or rattling. Fans of Pearl’s more expensive models will also recognize the Uni-Lock gearless tom arms, insulated die-cast claw hooks, steel triple-flange hoops and R40 air suspension floor tom feet. This series also features a newly-designed Pearl mini lug.
A complete shell pack with matching all-maple snare drum
Unlike many other series at this level, Decade Maple offers a full 5-piece shell pack with a matching snare drum. This not only gives the kit a more cohesive tone and look between the toms, bass and snare, but also cuts down significantly on price. Many rising drummers and gigging pros have faced the frustration of paying too much for a standalone snare to complete a shell pack.
